Tami Breymeyer, ICLA President, April 2018

Please describe why you feel this individual/institution is deserving of the ICLA Synergy Award:
"Sami is a true rising star in our industry. From her time at App State, to her building a licensing program at Miami Ohio from the ground up, to her new position now running the show at Michigan State. For purposes of this award, I feel she is most deserving due to what she was able to accomplish recently during her short stint at Miami Ohio, and how she goes about her business and adds true value to our industry as a whole. Sami is a true colleague and partner in the industry, and I'm also fortunate enough to be able to call her a true friend...I of course am speaking from the licensee perspective, but ask any retailer, peer university, agency personnel or anyone else that she's come into contact with, and I guarantee they would agree. She has already contributed much to our industry in a short period of time, and I have no doubt she'll continue to moving forward. A slam dunk for the ICLA Synergy Award!"

Farewell to Sami Miami

Miami Communications & Marketing
That Sami-Miami
That Sami-Miami
We sure will miss that Sami-Miami!
Did she score a trademark slam?
Yes, she did, that Sam-Miam(i),
But now she's leaving us. Oh damn!
Will we miss her here and there.
We will miss her everywhere.
More than just her trademark slam,
We will miss our Sam-Miam(i).
Now our logo's on a blouse.
And our M is on a mouse.
Folks now buy our trademarked blouse.
Folks now buy our trademarked mouse.
We will miss her here and there
We will miss her everywhere.
More than just her trademark slam,
We will miss our Sam-Miami(i).
Did she sell some RedHawk socks?
Did she sell some RedHawk clocks?
It's not just socks
It's not just clocks.
It's not a blouse.
It's not a mouse.
We will miss her here and there.
We will miss her everywhere.
Soon she'll done the green and white.
We wish her well, with all our might.

"During Sami's tenure, Appalachian State enjoyed a dramatic growth is licensing revenues. I attribute this to her energy, creativity, and ability to work with our licensing partners to create engaging and revenue-producing programs. She is incredibly organized and proficient. We miss her daily in our department."

"Thank you so much for the 2014 Licensee Award. We are honored by the recognition, but I truly know that the success the Miami University Trademarks & Licensing Program has had over the past year is due to your hard work and dedication! It is evident that all the time and effort you have put in since you began at Miami last year has been fruitful and not gone unnoticed. You are the one deserving of the accolades! Congratulations to you!"

"This is terrific. Let's keep growing that number. At this moment, the funding is equivalent of $7.6m endowment. That is impressive."

"The progress Sami has made right out of the "starting gate" is amazing. Miami has a long way to go in terms of people understanding licensing, since we've never had a position dedicated to it before, but Sami is educating them and has put an impressive number of intiatives in place. She has proven to be an outstanding addition to UCM, and is immensely enjoyable to worth with."

"I have known Sami for over four years and have been in a position to be fully aware of the quality of work that she is capable of. Her attention to detail is incredible and she has always held our needs in the highest regard and provided services that exceeded my expectations."

Letter of Recommendation
July 2005
"Perhaps the most notable aspect of your position has been your ability to maintain ties with prior types of promotional event groups while having the professional acumen to explore and develop new contacts to provide unique kinds of entertainment for Raider fans."
Paul Newman
Senior Associate Athletics Director
Wright State University
"While you have shepherded a number of promotional programs, I believe the Raider Pack Reward Program is your most successful and innovative endeavor. The program encouraged Wright State students to attend home athletic events in soccer, swimming, basketball, baseball, softball and tennis. The Raider Pack generated greater student involvement and created an awareness for our athletics program for the students while developing pride for our teams."
Paul Newman
Senior Associate Athletics Director
Wright State University
"I believe paramount among the skills which you employed to successfully serve as a springboard in your new position was your ability to establish internal and external contacts. These enabled you to both "reach out" and involve strategic counterparts who became involved in promotional aspects of the program and, at the same time, establish rapport with your colleagues."
